Vertigo riders face the final points-paying round of the FIM TrialGP World Championship this weekend in the French town of Vertolaye.
Vertolaye, practically in the centre of the French hexagon-shaped territory – between Clermont-Ferrand and Lyon – is set to host this final (double-date) round of the 2023 TrialGP World Championship over the first weekend of September. The championship is making its maiden stop-off at the venue.
Miquel Gelabert in TrialGP, Mattia Spreafico, Pau Martínez, Adrià Mercadé and Emile Mattheeuws in Trial2, British rider Alfie Lampkin in Trial3 and Australian Lillie Yiatrou in Trial2 Women will be the Vertigo riders who will take part in this last round of the calendar.
In the top category, Gelabert, behind the handlebars of a Vertigo Nitro RSR, will be looking to replicate or even improve upon the fourth position obtained in the most recent trial held in Sestrière. For the Vertigo Trial2 riders it will be time to battle for the best possible end-of-season result, something that young Alfie Lampkin will also have in mind as he fights to get his Vertigo Nitro RS onto the podium in Trial3. The son of the twelve-time world champion is fourth in the championship standings. Lillie Yiatrou – sixth in Trial2Women – will be looking to round off the year with a satisfactory result.
The event gets underway at 09:00 on Saturday and is scheduled to finish at around 16:00 after two laps of a course of just over twelve kilometres featuring twelve sections.
