Vertigo riders look to gather more points in Andorra

The fifth round of the Trial World Championship is set to take place this weekend in Andorra. The Vertigo riders of the Trial3, Trial2, Trial2 Women and TrialGP categories will compete in the Pyrenees trial with the aim of picking up as many points as possible.

The TrialGP of Andorra is by no means an easy event for the world championship riders; indeed, it is quite the opposite: a tough, highly demanding affair. On this occasion, nine of the twelve sections at Sant Julià de Lòria are located at more than 1,600 metres above sea level, which tend to be very technical and require high levels of physical preparation.

The Andorran round of the TrialGP World Championship will be the fourth for the Trial3 categories and will feature Alfie Lampkin and local rider Joan Miquel García. In Trial2, it will be the ninth and tenth trials for Pau Martínez, Mattia Spreafico, Adrià Mercadé and Emile Mattheeuws, all aiming to come away with improved results.

In addition to the marque’s factory riders, there will be other riders present on the Andorra entry list. Miquel Gelabert will compete in his second Grand Prix in the TrialGP category, while it will be a maiden event for Trial2 Women with Australian Lilie Yiatrou taking part.

The course will consist of 12 sections to be faced twice over each day of the double-date event. The first rider will get the competition underway at 09:00, with the prize-giving podium scheduled for 16:15.
