The young Vertigo rider Pau Martínez has been proclaimed winner of the prestigious Tres Dies de Santigosa endurance trial celebrating its 51st edition this year.
Success for Pau Martínez and success for Vertigo in the fifty-first edition of the Tres Dies de Santigosa Trial that took place this weekend in the surroundings of Sant Joan de les Abadesses. The rider from Sabadell sealed the win at the legendary endurance trial after beating all his rivals on the final day of the trial, gradually going from zero to hero as he overcame the handicap of being the first rider to face the thirty-one sections of the course.
Vertigo, the brand with the most riders
Trial fans made it clear: Vertigo is the bike best suited to the conditions of a demanding course such as the Tres Dies de Santigosa. Vertigo was, undoubtedly, the brand that featured the most among the riders taking part in the trial; out of over 200 participating riders, 42 of them did so behind the bars of a Vertigo.
As well as Pau Martínez, overall winner and also the victor in the Senior category, other Vertigo riders stood out in additional classes. Ryon Land finished fourth in the Cadet category, in which other Vertigo Factory Junior Team riders also finished: Marc Planella ninth, Héctor Baró tenth and Manel Jané fourteenth. In the Women’s category, Claudia Serrada finished fifth. In Junior, Dalton Land was twelfth and Joan Miquel García was fourteenth. Ángel Llopis finished seventeenth. French rider Benoit Dagnicourt was seventh in Senior. In Veteran A, Eduardo Álvarez finished the three days in sixth position, while in Veteran B Marc Terricabras claimed fourth place.
PAU MARTÍNEZ, Vertigo Factory rider: “This weekend’s event was a lot of fun, I had a great time. Congratulations to the Moto Club Abadesses for their great work organising this edition. For my part, I felt very good and I’m very proud to have finished the three days with only five penalty marks. I had no problems with the bike whatsoever, which was fantastic thanks to the great work of the whole Vertigo team, who took care of us over the three days. Thanks also to all of them.”

X-Trial de Bordeaux: Grattarola improves to finish sixth
Elsewhere, Matteo Grattarola last Friday achieved his best result of the season so far in the 2023 X-Trial World Championship. The Italian, at the trial held in Bordeaux, managed a sixth-place finish in spite of being the first rider to tackle the sections. Grattarola’s substantial improvement, participating aboard the Vertigo Nitro RSR, gives a glimpse of the huge potential expected from the rider and the new bike in the forthcoming competitions.
MATTEO GRATTAROLA, Vertigo Factory rider: “I really enjoyed the Bordeaux X-Trial. I was the first to start and I took it quite calmly. Now I’m starting to bond with the bike, I like it, and I think that can be seen too.
On the second lap I could have improved on the result and I could have also finished better. Thinking about it now, if I had gone in a bit calmer, I could have finished section 4 and I could have finished fourth, but… finishing in sixth place is a step forward.
Now I feel much more confident on the Vertigo Nitro RSR. Now we are going to improve so that we can tackle the first trial of the outdoor world championship in Arteixo. After the Italian championship, which I won and this trial in Bordeaux, the bike is much better and I think we can improve a lot on what we have done up until now. Thanks to the whole team. I feel calm because I see that the results are starting to come…”
